Gilbert Arenas, the Washington Wizards legend, recently disclosed the reason behind his co-host Mia Khalifa’s departure from their sports talk show, shedding light on the decision to shut down their YouTube talk show.
In 2017, Arenas, and former adult actress Mia Khalifa made headlines by teaming up to launch their talk show. The show, titled ‘Out of Bounds,’ was produced under Complex Networks and focused on delivering news, discussions, and insights related to modern sports leagues, players, and headlines.
The sports talk show was meant to be a long-running YouTube show by the network. However, Khalifa called it quits a few months after the show started. At the time, Khalifa did not publicize her reasoning for her departure but Arenas recently revealed the reason.
In a recent interview with VladTV, Agent Zero opened up about the duo’s talk show and shed light on Mia Khalifa’s decision to leave the show. The NBA legend alluded to the constant online harassment that Khalifa faced as the primary reason for her departure. He revealed that she was deeply affected by the barrage of negative comments that were directed at her during the show’s episodes.
Arenas said, “The reason it really didn’t work is that you gotta remember, her life is controlled you know her comments controlled … So when people come on there [comments] and they just ‘f**k this f**k that’ … Whenever she looks at the comments it was just all negative.'” He added, “So you know sitting there reading ten thousand comments and nine-thousand ninety of them is like bad, you like eventually it weighs on her.”
“I knew it was affecting her cause I pulled out of the driveway and she’s walking to get some lunch and I just honked like … She didn’t look back, she didn’t do nothing it was just ‘f*ck you loser,” he added.
Mia Khalifa pursued a new career in OnlyFans and several shows after the show got canceled. Arenas on the other hand started a new podcast The No Chill Gill Podcast which quickly gained traction with sports fans online.
