Gilbert Arenas criticized the Philadelphia 76ers’ management decisions, especially the James Harden trade, and questioned Daryl Morey’s qualifications. He favored the leadership of Elton Brand during Brand’s time with the team. Arenas’ remarks add to the ongoing discussion about the 76ers’ front-office decisions, particularly the Harden trade.

Harden has finally been traded to the LA Clippers, his preferred destination, with the Philadelphia 76ers sending Harden, PJ Tucker, and Filip Petrusev in exchange for Nic Batum, Marcus Morris, Robert Covington, KJ Martin, and multiple draft picks. The trade saga involved Harden publicly calling out Daryl Morey as a liar during the NBA offseason, as the move to the Clippers seemed unlikely. In light of these developments, Gilbert Arenas has expressed concerns that Morey’s questionable decisions may now result in the departure of the 76ers’ star, Joel Embiid.

It seemed like the [Sixers] were better when Elton Brand was the face [of the team]. He understood basketball… What are [Daryl] Morey’s credentials?… He’s an Instagram guy, not a reality guy.
Arenas said on his Gils Arena Podcast.

the former NBA star vehemently questioned Daryl Morey’s credibility and suggested that the departure of players from the team can be attributed to poor decision-making and a lack of deep knowledge about the game.
