Goran Dragic has made his way back to the NBA headlines and this time the reason is the senseless and foolish take of Gilbert Arenas on Giannis Antetokounmpo. Recently, Gilbert Arenas received a lot of criticism and was even trolled by the fans for his take on Greek Freak. He was also called as a “little di*k” by Richard Jefferson as he called out the best player on the planet and said: “He doesn’t understand basketball.” So this time Goran Dragic did a perfect job in shutting him down.
Goran Dragic proved why he is tagged with the nickname of “The Dragon” as he was doing nothing but spitting out straight fiery facts when questioned about Gilbert Arenas’ comments on Giannis Antetokounmpo. Gibby made no sense in those but Goran Dragic isn’t the same as he defended the Milwaukee Bucks’ leader and even cleaned the dirt on his name by taking a shot at Agent Zero himself.
It all started when Gilbert Arenas on his show “No Chill with Gilbert Arenas”, discussing Giannis Antetokounmpo quoted: “The media tries to shorten his gap it’s like… Oh, he’s the best player in the league. Not even close! Just stop it! So this gap is so big but you trying to always replace the next person by putting him in. Like his work… I can look at his game and say he doesn’t understand basketball.”
Further, Gibby added: “Like he plays the sport, he won a championship cool but he really doesn’t understand how to be great, how to be better. How to train his body… You know I am looking at the stat sheet playing 32 minutes and 34 minutes. But I am sorry like for you to be here you have to train your body to at least 38 minutes and above…” This take really has many around furious and Goran Dragic is one of those. As it was out of pure hate and senseless efforts to throw shade at Greek Freak.
So Goran Dragic who right now is suiting up for the Slovenian National Team in the EuroBasket ripped him apart. After securing a win against Belgium in the last sixteen rounds by 88-72. He backed up his fellow European Hooper and threw Gibby under the bus for just not making any sense.
Goran Dragic on Gilbert Arenas’ senseless comments for Giannis Antetokounmpo
Goran Dragic when questioned about the comments of Gilbert Arenas took a shot at him and quoted: “Giannis is the MVP. Gilbert Arenas is not. Was he ever the MVP? I don’t think so. So he can’t talk about Giannis. Giannis won the championship, won the MVP award. He has been the defensive player of the year…”.
Further, Goran Dragic taking some more shots and trying to end it humbly quoted: “Sometimes when they retire they just want to be relevant and sometimes you come out in the media. It is what it is. Gilbert Arenas was an unbelievable player and an unbelievable scorer, but in the end, I feel like this generation has a lot of good European players in the NBA who are MVPs, or win the championship”.
Goran Dragic has probably shut downed Gilbert Arenas as there is no coming back from here. The Washington Wizards former guard got called out for not being as great as Giannis but still taking shots at him. The fans aren’t going to forget the clap back from the Bulls’ guard and now Gibby is going to regret his take for years to come and many also want him to apologize to the Greek Freak.
