Bill Russell is known for his legacy by many fans around. He has 11 NBA titles (Celtics Legend and HOF) registered under his name and had a winning streak for 8 straight seasons. He also holds the NBA Finals records for championships, appearances, games played, rebounds and minutes. He also has two NCAA Titles, an Olympic Gold Medal and multiple individual honors like he’s a member of NBA’s Greatest Ever 25^th, 50^th and 75^th Anniversary teams and the list isn’t just limited to the above mentioned things. So Gregg Popovich showed the world the other and important side of Russell which made the world a better place.

His smile and approach were magnetic. His 11 NBA championships confirm he was the ultimate winner. Yet his most important achievements were the six decades he spent fighting tirelessly for civil rights and social change. He truly made the world a better place.” Head Coach Pop of the San Antonio Spurs is very right with his respect as Russell did fight for equality and social justice throughout his life and made the best possible efforts. He was also honored with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2011.
