Gregg Popovich wonders if loved ones of lawmakers being GUNNED DOWN only way America will change
Greg Popovich went on an emotional rant during the post-match conference on gun violence in the United States of America

San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich went on a 9-minute rant on gun laws in the United States which involved criticism of government officials in Texas. ESPNs Tim MacMahon reported that Pop was asked whether any media members were carrying guns during his press conference. He proceeded to reply with a lecture on gun violence laws in America.
Popovich name-dropped politicians such as Lindsey Graham, Jim Jordon, and Senator Marsha in his emotional rant. Pop quoted Marsha Blackburn’s response to a school shooting in Nashville two weeks ago: She said, “My office is in contact with federal, state, & local officials, & we stand ready to assist.” “In what? They’re dead. What are you going to assist with? Cleaning up their brains off the wall? Wiping the blood off the schoolroom floor? What are you going to assist with?” said Gregg Popovich
Gregg Popovich also stated that he feels unsafe dropping his grandchildren off at school. The United States faces more school shootings than many countries combined, and Pop feels the lawmakers are at fault. Popovich blamed the selfishness of the governors while saying – “You know, the greed of the gun lobbies and the manufacturers is obvious. We all know that. Money talks, but the cowardice and the selfishness of the legislators.“
Gregg Popovich feels America is hiding behind the 2nd Amendment

The 20+ year veteran coach continued his rant: “They’re going to cloak all this stuff, the myth of the Second Amendment, the freedom. You know, it’s just a myth. It’s a joke. It’s just a game they play. I mean, that’s freedom. Is it freedom for kids to go to school and try to socialize and learn and be scared that they might die that day?” The Second Amendment states that every citizen has a right to bear arms, and Pop feels this needs to change to reduce school shootings.
Gregg Popovich is hardly the only NBA player to advocate for changes to the nation’s gun laws. Following tragic mass shootings at a Uvalde, Texas school, a grocery store in Buffalo, and a church in Southern California, Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr slammed politicians last May for their delay on fundamental gun control measures.
“America ain’t what we thought America was. It’s changed. So if those kids are insurrectionists, what were the people on January 6th? What do we call them? What’s the next step or word or level of violence after insurrectionists? What will it take?” said Popovich. Pop questioned the statement of the legislators who called the children insurrectionists. Popovich did not hold back in his emotional rant on the state of gun laws in America while calling out several government officials so that they take the matter seriously.
