Miami Heat’s star player Dwyane Wade was in the news recently over a ‘water-wastage’ dispute. Along with him are some big names of America Sylvester Stallone, Kevin Hart, Kim, and Kourtney Kardashian. All these famous names were issued legal notices indicating they have surpassed their monthly water usage limit since the drought emergency at the end of last year. The Star player and his actor-wife, Gabrielle Union were involved in this drought restriction violation.
Southern California has been struggling with an intense drought for the past three years and unprecedented water restrictions. A document obtained by The Times stated that the names mentioned above are possibly among the biggest names in water waste in the tony San Fernando Valley enclaves of Calabasas and Hidden Hills. The celebs, along with a convincing population of about 2,000 customers, were issued “notices of exceedance” recently by the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District, mentioning that they had surpassed 150% of their monthly water budgets at least four times since the drought emergency has been declared during the end of 2021.
NBA star Dwyane Wade and his wife, actor Gabrielle Union, accepted that there is excess water use at their property. The couple stated, “We have taken drastic steps to reduce water usage in accordance with the new city guidelines and have since we moved into our home.” Further, they added, “We have been doing everything we can to rectify the situation and will continue to go to extensive lengths to resolve the issue, we have replaced all parts of our pool system that [have] to do with water flow and leakage in addition to converting to synthetic grass and drought tolerant plants to reduce our water usage. We will continue to work with the city and the water distribution company to make sure this isn’t an issue moving forward.”

Dwyane spent the majority of his 16-year career with Miami Heat and won three NBA titles. He was also a 13-time NBA All-star and an 8-time member of the All-NBA team. He was also a 3-time member of the ALL-defensive team. Wade also tops the list of Miami’s all-time leaders in points, games, assists, steals, and shots made.
Wade was a part of the USA’s national team, popularly known as the ‘Redeem team,’ which won a gold medal in the 2008 Summer Olympics. He even played for Chicago Bulls and Cleveland Cavaliers before returning to the Heat in the final phase of his career. Wade was honored as one of the league’s greatest players by being named to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team.
