Atlanta Hawks have made headlines on Tuesday night, and not only because they forced a Game 6 against the Boston Celtics with an upset 119-117 win in Game 5 of their first-round playoff series. It’s also due to the lack of faith the organization had in the team.

The Celtics hosted the Hawks at the TD Garden for Game 5 of the first-round playoffs series. The game was closely contested and went back and forth until the final minutes when Trae Young took over and got his team over the line. The Celtics were the heavy favorites to win Game 5 and advance to the Eastern Conference semifinals. Evidently, even the Hawks organization, especially the State Farm Arena, thought the Celtics would end the series on Tuesday night.

With Dejounte Murray suspended, the team had little reason to believe the Hawks would score an upset win at the TD Garden in Boston and keep the series alive. The State Farm Arena certainly didn’t believe the team could overcome the odds and booked a Janet Jackson concert (7:45 pm) for the same night (27th April) that Game 6 would’ve been scheduled for.

Trae Young’s heroics and godlike performance in Game 5 created a scheduling nightmare. The young star dropped 38 points, dished out 13 assists, and grabbed four boards. Being down by one point with 1.8 seconds remaining, he also went on to drill a game-winning three-pointer from near the logo. He took over in the final few minutes of the game and scored the Hawks’ final 14 points to keep his team’s season alive.

The Trae Young-led Atlanta Hawks resurgence even sent Twitter into a frenzy. Fans on Twitter trolled the organization for allowing their home arena to book a Janet Jackson concert on the same night the team is scheduled to host the Celtics in an elimination game. To their credit, the team and State Farm Arena reacted quickly and resolved their blunder. The concert is now scheduled for Friday, and the game will go ahead as scheduled on Thursday. The Hawks will also be boosted by the return of Dejounte Murray, who was suspended after an altercation with a referee at the end of Game 4. The Celtics need a win to advance to the semifinals, where the Philadelphia 76ers await. But the Hawks will believe they can become the 14th team to overcome a 3-1 deficit in the playoffs and extend their season.
