It appears as if Luka Doncic does really like playing against the Los Angeles Clippers. Every time Doncic has faced the Clippers since taking them to game 7 in the 2020 playoffs, he has been a nightmare for them. The Dallas Mavericks star makes sure that every time he faces Clippers, he puts on a show. On Tuesday against the Clippers, he did make sure that he doesn’t disappoint the fans but fell short of a much-needed win.

Before the game, Doncic was questionable against the Clippers, but NBA fans know, the Matador doesn’t like to miss his opportunity. However, things didn’t turn out to be how he wanted, as the Mavs fell 22 points at the end of the first half. But, Luka led the Mavs in the third quarter and cut the lead to 10 points. Despite a strong comeback from Dallas, the Clippers defeated them 113-101.

The loss, however, shouldn’t cloud the magic number Luka has been putting in his past few games in the season. In his last 8 games of the season, Doncic has averaged almost a 40-point triple-double. He has averaged 39.6 points, 11.3 rebounds, and 8.6 assists for the Mavericks. Moreover, when it comes to Clippers, the court becomes his favorite hunting ground. In his past 6 games against the Clippers, the Slovenian star has averaged over 40 points a game.

Despite the loss, the fans took to Twitter to appreciate the greatness the young star has been showing this season and also against the Clippers. While some of the fans cried for more help for Luka, some simply put his greatness into words. One of the fans wrote, “He owns that poverty franchise.” Another fan wrote, “Y’all really saying he owns the clippers even though he lost half those games and got bounced twice by them in the playoffs.” Here are some reactions from the fans;

After sitting out Sunday’s loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, Luka Doncic returned to the game and finished with 43 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists on 12-22 field goal shooting. Doncic surpassed Kobe Bryant in the number of regular-season and postseason 40-point games against the Clippers

Kawhi Leonard and Norman Powell came up big against the Mavericks. Leonard scored in 36 minutes and Powell scored 27 points in 31 minutes. Despite having good scorers like Christian Wood and Spencer Dinwiddie Dallas has not been having a good season so far.
