Devin Booker has finally impressed Kendrick Perkins with his greats and heroics in the Western Conference Semifinals. As he has successfully led the Phoenix Suns to tie the series at 2-2 against the Nikola Jokic-led Denver Nuggets. Kendrick Perkins wasn’t riding with the take of Devin Booker being like the legendary Kobe Bryant. But the young guard’s latest performances have had him change his mind.

As recently sitting alongside Stephen A. Smith and Brian Windhorst on the recent episode of “First Take”, Kendrick Perkins gave Devin Booker his flowers and made some claims too. Kendrick Perkins started off his take by pointing out how Devin Booker is better than all the stars and superstars in the postseason. As he said: “With all due respect to Steph Curry, with all due respect to Jokic, with all due respect to Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Joel Embiid you know James Harden, Anthony Davis, LeBron James, Jimmy Butler, Devin Booker has been the best player in the playoffs.”

Kendrick Perkins then backed his take with some facts and stats while pointing out how good Devin Booker has been while dominating the offensive end. As per Big Perk, Devin Booker is now leading the chart for transition points, points on drives, points on pull-ups in mid-range, and isolation points. He also claimed to have not seen any player be this efficient and offensively dominating at the same time throughout his life.

Also, Kendrick Perkins isn’t wrong while saying that as Devin Booker is really making some history out there. He already has broken several scoring records in the postseason and is now a part of elite clubs which have Michael Jordan, Dirk Nowitzki, LeBron James and Kevin Durant, and other greats in them.

D-Book is also the only player in the league’s history to have 45+ points, 5+ rebounds, 5+ assists, and an 80%+ FG% playoff game. So it’s fair when Kendrick Perkins claims to haven’t seen anything like this before. Also, Devin Booker so far in the post-season is averaging 36.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, 7.4 assists, 2 steals, and 0.9 blocks while shooting 49% from the field and 38.7% from downtown.

Kendrick Perkins didn’t just stop with the facts and claims of his. As he also apologized to Stephen A. Smith for not riding with a take of his regarding Devin Booker’s greatness. As he quoted: “I want to apologize to you Stephen A… I have given you a lot of heat. When you said Devin Booker is Kobe Bryant basically. He’s a younger version of Kobe. And if anybody disagrees with that, they’re out of their damn mind and they haven’t been watching basketball.” Book is really displaying some Mamba Mentality while balling out for the Suns. Also, he cares the least about such comparisons and holds his inspiration, Black Mamba high with respect.

Further, Big Perk rightly appreciated Devin Booker for all his efforts, as he’s the sole reason behind the late success of the Phoenix Suns against the Denver Nuggets. He also pointed out how Kevin Durant is yet to ball out and once again reminded the league that Booker “has been and is the best player in these playoffs.”
