Grizzlies’ forward Dillon Brooks didn’t hold back in an interview, a day before the Lakers went head-to-head with the Timberwolves. He fired shots at names people are afraid of. And now, according to fans, he has put himself in trouble. Brooks said he wasn’t afraid of playing against the Lakers and their master LeBron James in the first round of the playoffs. According to Brooks, a first-round matchup against the Lakers is perfect for them. He also relentlessly added that they would knock the Lakers out of the first round of playoffs.
With Memphis Grizzlies clinching the #2 seed this season, the team’s confidence is at an all-time high. This can easily be seen in the way the players conduct themselves, and the one highlighted is Dillon Brooks. In a statement given to Memphis Commercial Appeal, Brooks highlighted his thought process against the Lakers.
“I wouldn’t mind playing LeBron (James) in a seven-game series,” Brooks continued,” The legacy is there. First time back in the playoffs, knock him out right away.” Brooks also said,” They’ll test us good. They got good pieces, and good players. That’ll be a good first-round matchup for us.”
With the Los Angeles Lakers barely skimming past the Timberwolves, Brooks now has the opportunity to stand by his words.

They dominated their home games with a 35-6 record and ended the regular season strong with 6-4 in 10 games.
The Los Angeles Lakers on the other hand had a rocky 2022-23 journey. The team was never comfortably granted a position in the playoffs till the very end moment. In their play-in game against the Timberwolves, the team barely made it through. The Lakers won the game 108-102 as LeBron led the way with 30 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists. Anthony Davis and Dennis Schroder followed with 24 and 21 points each respectively. Karl-Anthony Towns showed up for the Wolves with 24 points, but his effort wasn’t enough.
