Skip Bayless on LeBron James

LeBron James inches closer every game to the elusive all-time scoring record. However, LeBron is doing it at an astonishing pace. He is averaging 35 points per game since turning 38 in December. Over 14 games, at this age, those are incredible numbers. Skip Bayless described it as “An all-time torrential tear” when referring to his scoring run.

Skip Bayless has never been a huge fan of LeBron James in the past. However, in this segment, he opens up on how LeBron feels no pressure with this record. This is unusual coming from Skip but it was about time. LeBron has been dominating the league for years and now that he can claim this scoring title, there is nothing left for Skip Bayless to say. “He’s on the doorstep of this scoring record before I was even ready,” he said in his tweet.

The scoring title is just waiting for LeBron James at this point. Although nobody expected it to be this soon. Skip Bayless says he thought it would take till April for LeBron to get this record. Whereas now in the month of February, he is less than 70 points away from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s 38,387. To put this into perspective, nobody has ever averaged over 21 points per game since turning 35. LeBron is averaging 28/8/7 since turning 35.

Taking a trip down memory lane, LeBron James was averaging the same numbers he is right now as he was in 2013. He won the MVP, Finals MVP, and NBA Championship that season. At times it feels like everyone has just accustomed themselves to LeBron’s greatness. He is a statistical abnormality who defies all boundaries of age and mileage.

LeBron put up 28 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists against the Indiana Pacers in a Lakers win. If he keeps this up he should break the record against OKC or Milwaukee once their road trip ends. Whenever he does it, rest assured the whole world will be watching, especially Skip Bayless.
