“That sh*t is crazy” Houston Rockets legend bashes Hakeem Olajuwon’s unrealistic critics
Hakeem Olajuwon is arguably one of the most dominant centers of all time. Many players during his time always feared his top notch defensive tactics and shot blocking abilities. He played during one of the most dominant eras of the league when several ballers were finding their way through greatness.
He joined the league in 1984 and spent 16 years with the Houston Rockets who were one of the top teams in the Western Conference during the 90s. He averaged 21.8 points and 11.1 rebounds throughout his career and had multiple All-Star and All-NBA selections. His skills were a testament to why the league selected him one number overall.
Hakeem Olajuwon topped the league with his marvellous defense
The NBA Hall of Famer garnered a lot of attention on himself with his rivalries against some of the greatest players. During the 90s, Michael Jordan was one such player who stole the show from other skilled athletes of the league. MJ was often a reason why many other teams or players never had an opportunity to achieve their life long dream of winning a title.
The Dream as they called Hakeem Olajuwon was on a very similar level was Jordan and Shaquille O’Neal who were few of the top players at that time. Hakeem won two titles during his career I’m 1994 and 1995. For the first ring, MJ has suddenly made a decision to retire from the league which paved way for the Dream to become the reality. But it was when MJ came that the league became tougher and Hakeem’s capability was starting to be questioned.

After all the questions that were raised in past, Vernon Maxwell, a former teammate of Hakeem Olajuwon spoke clapped at the haters. He said, “That sh*ts crazy, that’s unbelievable man, I mean he got to be in the mean Top 5 centers ever to play this game man, so ya man I mean quiet, humble guy, you know didn’t say a lot, wasn’t in the spotlight like that, you know they want all that sh*t.”
“So I think that’s what like hindered him a little bit, I mean totally a great person when he became Muslim, now, I’m gonna tell you to say that before he became Muslim, that mo****f***er was tough to deal with… he slapped the sh*t out of you.”
