Howard Stern, the famous radio personality, is a big fan of the New York Knicks. Stern, being the celebrity that he is, sits courtside at Knicks games. During any game of the season, Madison Square Garden is one of the arenas that is crowded with celebrities.

The greatest way to enjoy the game is to sit courtside. The players are just a few feet away, and they frequently shake hands with the fans seated courtside. But it wasn’t precisely the same for Stern. Following the game, the players greet and acknowledge the celebrities who sat courtside. Stern, on the other hand, complained that he was never treated the same way.

Recently, Stern complained that NBA players wouldn’t acknowledge him while attending games. He specifically mentioned that black NBA players wouldn’t come up to him. He highlighted that he gets ignored whenever he is in the building while the players greet the other celebrities.

“And a lot of times when I’m there, I’m next to Tracy Morgan, who is so funny. And he’s sitting there and like, couple of the players will come over. They like give him that bro shake and stuff. And I’m like, ‘These guys should hug me too’. I mean, what am I? I grew up in a black neighborhood, you know what I mean? I mean they should know that. But I get ignored.”, said Stern.

While this might sound like a plead to be recognized as a personality, Stern didn’t have any problems in admitting that.

Stern does have referees come up to him to talk, but never the players. Even after numerous such occasions, Howard believes that it is a racial complication that he faces. As much as he would want to talk to the players, Stern doesn’t shy away from the fact that he admires when someone recognizes him.

“I just get upset. I’m like, you know, fame is very important to me. I’ll admit it. I like people to recognize me.”, said Howard. However, it may have to do with the fact that players may not know him personally. Fans on Twitter didn’t let Stern’s comments fade, as they went on to roast him for his words.

Howard has faced quite some backlash ever since he addressed this situation of his. Considering it to be a racial problem, Stern had many upset at his words. Stern may not attend future Knicks games because he dislikes the experience of sitting courtside after not receiving any attention from the players. It will be fascinating to see what the Knicks organization plans to do in response to Stern’s strange concerns.
