Angel Reese, the Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA Tournament, has addressed the taunting allegations surrounding LSU’s win over Iowa in the national championship game. Speaking to ESPN after the game, Reese admitted to waiting for her moment to respond to Iowa’s star player, Caitlin Clark.

During the game, Reese engaged in various gestures, such as pointing to her finger to highlight their championship win and waving her hands in front of her face, reminiscent of wrestler John Cena’s signature move. Additionally, she used a taunt that Clark had previously used during Iowa’s victory against Louisville in the Elite Eight.

“Caitlin Clark is a hell of a player for sure. But I don’t take disrespect lightly. And she disrespected Alexis (Morris) and my girls. South Carolina? They’re still my SEC girls too. But y’all gonna disrespect them either,” Reese said. “I wanted to pick her pocket. But I had a moment at the end of the game and I was just in my bag. I was in my moment.”

It’s possible that Clark’s conduct during Iowa’s victory against South Carolina in the Final Four could have triggered Reese’s response. In her post-championship press conference, Reese expressed how she had been criticized throughout the season for not conforming to the desired storyline.

“I’m too hood, I’m too ghetto. Y’all told me that all year. But when other people do it? Y’all don’t say nothing,” Reese said. “So this is for the girls that look like me. This was bigger than me tonight. It was bigger than me. Twitter’s gonna go on a rage every time and I’m happy. I feel like I’ve helped grow women’s basketball this year. I’m super happy and excited so I’m looking forward to celebrating into next season.”

LSU’s women’s basketball team has made history by winning its first national championship title. They secured a dominant victory over Iowa in the NCAA Tournament final, finishing with a score of 102-85. The Tigers’ victory was led by Angel Reese, who was named the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament.

LSU had a dominant performance in the championship game, with five players scoring in double digits. Led by Reese’s 15 points and ten rebounds. Iowa’s star player, Caitlin Clark, finished with 30 points, but it wasn’t enough to overcome LSU’s balanced attack.

The win was especially meaningful for LSU head coach Kim Mulkey, who won her fourth national championship as a head coach. Mulkey had previously won three championships with Baylor before taking over at LSU this season.

The LSU women’s basketball team had a remarkable season, finishing with a 34-2 record. The team’s success was due in large part to the leadership of Mulkey and the play of Reese, who transferred to LSU from Maryland before the season.

With the championship win, LSU has firmly established itself as one of the top women’s basketball programs in the country. The team will look to build on its success next season, with Reese leading the way as one of the top players in the game.
