“I want LeBron James to DESTROY him’ – Loud-mouth Dillon Brooks needs lesson in humility, claims Skip Bayless

The Memphis Grizzlies managed to even their series against the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night, but the post-game talk was dominated by Dillon Brooks’ disrespectful remarks towards LeBron James. Brooks, who has been struggling offensively, decided to trash-talk the 19-time All-Star, labeling him as “old” after James dropped a 28-point and 12-rebound double-double in a loss.

Skip Bayless, a well-known critic of LeBron James, condemned Brooks’ remarks and defended the 38-year-old forward. “The audacity of this kid Dillon Brooks who can’t back up any of his words. It came across just utter, cold-hearted, remorseless disrespect,” Bayless said. “I want LeBron to destroy him.”

While James has faced many antagonizers throughout his 20-year career, Brooks’ disrespect might be one of the worst. Despite averaging 24.5 points and 11.5 rebounds in the first two games against the Grizzlies, James has struggled from the 3-point line, shooting only 4-for-16. Nevertheless, he is shooting an efficient 51.3% from the field.

In Game 2, James shot over 60% when guarded by Brooks, but that did not stop Brooks from continuing to trash-talk the veteran forward. “I want LeBron to destroy this man. He can destroy this kid if he so chose to do,” Skip Bayless added.

With Ja Morant out for Game 3, the last thing the Grizzlies need is to face an angry LeBron James. Anthony Davis has already expressed his plans to make amends for failing to contribute in Game 2, and we should expect statement performances from both AD and James.

However, despite the personal feud, LeBron James has never been one to prioritize it over his team’s success. Winning Game 3 would undoubtedly satisfy his need for revenge, and that should be the focus for the Lakers, especially at this stage of James’ NBA career.

The Lakers are undoubtedly a favorite to win Game 3, but they cannot underestimate the Grizzlies, who have shown resilience throughout the series. The Lakers need to capitalize on their strengths, such as their size advantage, and shut down the Grizzlies’ offense, which heavily relies on their guards.

The Grizzlies, on the other hand, will need to step up their defense and take advantage of the Lakers’ weaknesses, such as their 3-point shooting. They need to limit LeBron James’ impact on the game and force the Lakers to rely on their secondary scoring options.
