“If this was Jordan you would say he was built different,” Skip Bayless torched on social media for questioning LeBron James’ injury
Skip Bayless gets slammed by Twitter users for questioning LeBron James injury against the Dallas Mavericks
LeBron James
LeBron James fell clutching his ankle in the Los Angeles Laker’s latest game against the Dallas Mavericks but got up and continued to finish the game. Skip Bayless however, questioned the legitimacy of the injury as LeBron is now out for an extended time after post-match scans. Skip Bayless tweeted, “Please explain how LeBron said he “heard a pop” when he went down yesterday – yet continued playing, scored 11 more pts, DHam said afterward LBJ is “good” … and now Shams reports he could miss “extended time”??? Why & how did he continue playing w/o a limp if it was this bad???”
Fans on Twitter went after Skip Bayless for his hypocritical comments saying that he would’ve praised Michael Jordan for playing yet he is criticizing LeBron. “if this was Jordan you would say he was built differently” said one fan. Bayless has made a career of comparing LeBron James to Michael Jordan and has always taken Jordan’s side. Here is what the rest of Twitter had to say:
Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant have well-documented cases of playing on with an injury and Skip Bayless himself has lauded Jordan for playing with the flu in 1997. However, when it comes to LeBron, Skip always seems to have a bias. When it comes to the actual reason, no one knows, but one fan pointed out something interesting. “I’m sure that the adonis you are, you’ve forgotten what an injury feels like… but, as a reminder — sometimes the effects don’t immediately set in…” read one reply. This is a plausible reason as such injuries are not noticed during an adrenaline rush and playing on could have worsened it.

LeBron James’ injury has come at the worst time for the Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers have just started to gain some momentum and face yet another roadblock. LeBron and the Lakers are 4-1 in their last 5 games including important wins against teams above them. The Western conference is a dogfight for a playoff spot as the Lakers are just 2.5 games behind the 6 seed. LeBron James got injured during a valiant 27-point comeback win against the Mavericks but it does not seem like it was worth it.
The Lakers are 5-9 without LeBron this season and 24-23 with him. The King has been having a sensational season up to this point and must be gutting this untimely injury. Shams Charania Tweeted – “Sources: There’s fear Lakers star LeBron James is likely to miss an extended period of time with his right foot injury. James suffered the injury in Sunday’s win over Dallas, played through it, and belief is he will be sidelined an indefinite amount.”
LeBron James has already had a tough job carrying LA this season and responsibility shifts to Anthony Davis now. AD has averaged 27 points and 15 rebounds without LeBron this season. The Lakers will need a lot of this and more to close out the season. New signings Jared Vanderbilt and Malik Beasley have been performing well and have been a breath of fresh air in LA. Whether LeBron is out for the rest of the season or not, the only constant will be LA struggling and Skip Bayless hating.
