In a shocking turn of events, Ime Udoka was suspended by the Boston Celtics in the 2022-23 NBA season due to violations of the terms, which was an infidelity scandal. Since then, the Head Coach has had to go through immense media attention and questions.

After moving to Houston Rockets to leave things behind, it seems his case on the situation still lingers, and was recently, asked yet again about it on media day.

Before the Rockets’ game against the Celtics and his return to similar territory, Ime Udoka addressed how he had let his team down and said:

But when asked what was the situation like when even the players could give a proper explanation on the matter without them knowing the whole situation, he simply added: 

They lied to you. Some of them knew.

Since that time, Udoka has had a rough time. He was dismissed from the Boston Celtics for violating their rules and getting divorced from her long partner, Noa Long, to whom he had been engaged since 2015.

As per reports, the infidelity involved one woman from the Boston Celtics staff, and after the news broke out, Boston was quick to take action, which Udoka himself labeled as “the team’s decision.” Later Boston Celtics star, Jayson Tatum also shared his thoughts, explaining how they have already moved on from the situation.

The ex-Boston Celtics coach had rumors of him either joining the Utah Jazz or Hustoon Rockets and finally, he made a move to the Rockets. And now after leaving the Celtics, he returns to familiar territory as his team faces off against the Boston Celtics in the TD Garden. As much as everyone is excited about their match, it would be interesting to see how the fans would welcome their former head coach.
