Bradley Beal could be on his way to Miami this summer. The Washington Wizards star is entering the final year of his contract and has not committed to staying with the team long-term.
The Wizards, who missed the playoffs for the third time in four years, are reportedly open to trading him as part of their rebuild. According to sources, the Miami Heat are one of the teams interested in acquiring Beal, who would give them another elite scorer to join Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo.
The Heat are willing to offer Haywood Highsmith and Nikola Jovic, two promising young players who have shined in the G League and Summer League, as part of a package for Beal. Beal has been loyal to the Wizards throughout his nine-year career, but he may be ready to chase a ring with a contender.
He has never demanded a trade from the Wizards, but he has agreed to cooperate with their plans for the future. By landing in Miami, he would play for a respected franchise with a proven coach in Erik Spoelstra.

They could also use their mid-level exception and veteran minimum deals to add depth to their roster.
The trade is not official yet, but it is a realistic possibility that could happen before the start of next season. Bradley Beal has been a loyal Wizard for 11 seasons, putting up 23.2 points, 5.4 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game. But at 29 years old, he might be ready for a change of scenery. Any team that lands Beal would get a proven scorer and playmaker, who can still perform at a high level for years to come.
