Dwyane Wade is one of the best shooting guards in the league’s history. He has an unreal bag of skills from his athleticism to shooting. And, the league believed in him even before he was drafted. As his high school and college career was enough for the fans to predict his greatness. And, Wade didn’t disappoint any of them as he is soon to be a Hall Of Famer for his illustrious career where he has won several championships and has multiple personal and team accolades registered under his name.
Dwyane Wade was drafted 5th overall in the 2003 NBA Draft by the Miami Heat. And, in the first season itself, he started to deliver for the team living up to the hype. In 2006 which was just his third year in the league he went on to win the NBA Championship. He now has cemented his legacy as a superstar who got the job done. And, even Michael Jordan was riding with him since day one. As Wade has revealed a wild story regarding his first meeting with Michael Jordan.
Michael Jordan is regarded as the Greatest Of All Time to ever set foot on the basketball court by many around the globe. Even Dwyane Wade agrees with this take. Growing up in Chicago with dreams of making it to the league his idol was Michael Jordan and he wanted to be like Mike. And, like every other human being, we want our idols to know us and be proud of us. Many don’t succeed with this wish but lucky Wade had Michael Jordan showing him love after he made it to the league.

Dwyane Wade was recently featured on an episode of “Headliners with Rachel Nichols” at “Showtime Basketball.” And, there he revisited the time when he first met Michael Jordan. As Rachel Nichols didn’t believe the story to be true. So cleaning out the false allegations Wade went on to explain his experience of meeting Michael Jordan in Chicago just weeks after making it to the league.
Dwyane Wade quoted: “My cousin in the party… He came up to me and he said, ‘Bro Michael Jordan is here.’ And, I said ‘Where is he at?’… So I think he’s playing games with me. So I am like where he at and he’s like he’s outside they won’t let him in… He’s like bro I am not playing and I was like okay so let’s go. We bee-lined out the club, right out the doors. It’s a slew of motorcycles. And Michael Jordan is sitting right there on one of the motorcycles.”
Further, Dwyane Wade added: “It was like seeing a ghost. And I ran right up to him. And he said he was like, ‘I just want to come and show you some love.’… I don’t know why they won’t let Mike in. He had 50 people with him probably… That’s a true story it was my first time meeting Michael Jordan. It was the Coolest experience ever, he was sitting on a motorcycle looking cool as sh**.”
It really is a great moment to have when your idol who is also the GOAT himself pays you a visit at your draft party to congratulate you on a motorcycle and with 50 other guys. Dwyane Wade after this moment must have been super proud of himself and motivated to destroy the league just as Black Jesus.
