“It’s frustrating” – Kevin Durant’s survivor impulse EMPATHIZES with Kawhi Leonard after Clippers star suffers injury
Kawhi Leonard injury creates uncertainty for Clippers playoff run

Kevin Durant and Kawhi Leonard
Kevin Durant expressed empathy towards Kawhi Leonard’s injury-induced absence from the current NBA playoffs, and frustration over the uncontrollable nature of injuries. Following the Phoenix Suns’ Game 3 win against the Los Angeles Clippers in Leonard’s absence, Durant spoke to the media about the challenges of dealing with injuries during crucial games.
Durant knows all too well the impact of injuries on a player’s career. In the 2019 NBA Finals, he ruptured his Achilles tendon, costing him the rest of the series against Leonard’s Toronto Raptors. The Raptors went on to win the championship in six games. Durant spent the entire next season rehabbing his injury and had to miss several games in the following seasons due to various injuries.
“It’s frustrating. You go out to play and you prepare for this whole time of the season,” Durant said. “It’s just frustrating. There’s some stuff that you wish you had more control over. It’s just such a tough situation.”
Kawhi Leonard and Paul George’s Injury Woes

The Clippers are dealing with their own injury issues as their star players, Leonard and Paul George, have been out of action for a considerable period due to knee injuries. Leonard’s right knee got aggravated during Game 1 of their first-round match against the Suns, and the problem worsened after Game 2. The Clippers haven’t given any updates on his status or whether he will be fit to play in Game 4.
George, on the other hand, has been sitting out due to a sprained right knee that also caused him to miss the last nine games of the regular season. He has been working hard to recover and has been posting updates on his progress on social media. However, Clippers president of basketball operations, Lawrence Frank, has stated that George’s recovery timeline has not changed despite Leonard’s injury.
The Clippers are facing an uphill battle against the Suns, with or without Leonard and George. The Suns have a 2-1 lead in the series, and the Clippers will need all hands on deck to turn the tide in their favor. Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue remains optimistic about Leonard’s chances of returning, but the team’s medical staff has yet to clear him for action.
Injuries have been a major storyline in this year’s NBA playoffs, with several star players missing games due to various ailments. Fans can only hope that the Clippers’ injury concerns are resolved soon and that the team can make a full-strength push for the championship.
