“I’m not as A**HOLE” J.R Smith drops truth bomb on Cleveland Cavaliers days
J.R Smith has had quite an incredible journey with the NBA. There is no denying the fact he was one of the better players during his prime. Besides his quirky attitude who may throw off certain people who think he is a bad person, his skills on the court certainly spoke for him on his behalf at times.
The former NBA Champion had a slight rough patch with the league during the 2018-19 Season. After going almost seasons without a team, he signed with the Los Angeles Lakers. While playing alongside his buddy LeBron James for the second time in his career, he wound up with a second title during the bubble season.
J.R Smith opens up about him being the “Bad Guy”
J.R Smith has never denied having a different outlook on life than most others. But people often judged him as the bad guy on every team he played for. The former player opened saying,“I probably would have tried to stick it out longer just because of the relationships I built and the people like Channing, Kyle Korver, Kyle got traded anyway. What people don’t realize about me is that I am not an a**hole. When I walk into the facility.”
“I see these guys on the training table and I’ll go speak or have fun with the trainers. I enjoyed that part, when I got up in the morning to go to work, I had fun. I loved being around the people I am around. When that’s interrupted by someone that feels like I am not working up to par or doing whatever needs to be done for the team, then that’s different. I am not as complex as people make it out to be.”
J.R Smith proves that he is not who the fans think he is
J.R Smith once took up the opportunity to play overseas in China. Basketball fans of the country called him the Michael Jordan of China after he dropped 52 points, 22 rebounds and 11 three-pointers in a game. This included 7 steals on a statline that seems nearly impossible to replicate on the NBA platform.
Smith retired after winning his second NBA ring in 2020. He ended up enrolling himself into college after retiring and joined North Carolina A&T. Majoring in Liberal Studies, he graduated with a 4.0 GPA following his final semester. He also became a member of their Golf team as well where he was very successful.
