Ja Morant pays gratitude to Chris Paul for changing lives of ‘two kids from SC’
Ja Morant shows respect after Chris Paul highlights GG Jackson, who went off for a career high despite the loss against the Dubs.
Chris Paul has been in the league for about 19 years. Having played for six teams in that period and becoming one of the most elite point guards ever to play, CP3 has had his share of fame.
Apart from his heroics on the court, Paul has organized various camps for high schoolers with the best rankings in the country. Through these camps, Paul has coached a lot of up-and-rising players who have now made it to the big stage.
Fast forward to the present time, the Golden State Warriors recently hosted the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday. GG Jackson, the rookie, played against his AAU coach.
For the uninitiated, Paul coached Jackson when he played for his AAU team two years ago. Though the Dubs have played the Grizzlies early this season, Paul was injured during both games and did not suit up. While talking the same Ja Morant showed respect to CP3 for helping guys like Jackson make it big time.
Honestly, telling you the most fulfilling thing about tonight, was GG Jackson. GG Jackson was on my AAU team. I was his coach two years ago. Two years ago, GG was on my AAU team... GG is a unbelievanble kid. We played Memphis twice this year, and I was hurt both of those games... It's crazy, sometime he still call me coach.Said Paul.
Ja Morant had a rather wholesome reply to the same.
CP really changed two kids from SC lives . much respect.Morant wrote
GG Jackson had a night himself, putting up a career-high 35 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists while shooting 7 of 14 from distance.
His first meeting with his AAU mentor in the NBA turned out to be the best game of his rookie season. The 19-year-old from South Carolina is having a fantastic rookie season. Coached by the Point God, Jackson learned a lot from Paul’s camp.
Chris Paul can turn to coaching following his NBA career
GG Jackson is a great example of how far Chris Paul has come since the beginning of his career. CP3 is nearing 39, as the legend has a few seasons left in him. Fans know of Paul’s involvement and mentorship in the huddle. Following his retirement from playing, the Point God would make a good coach.
While we’ve seen big-time players do decently as coaches in the league, Paul has the knowledge as well as the mindset to lead the team in the most sophisticated way possible.
Notably, CP3 can look to start with a college team and try to make his way in the league. Paul has played through the eras of modern and traditional basketball, experiencing the ups and downs of each.
With that being said, it will be quite entertaining to see a team coach like Paul in the association. The Point God already has his students play against him in the league. It wouldn’t hurt to coach some of his current teammates in the future.
