Ja Morant’s sister Teniya was all excited and went on a roll after her brother and Memphis’ guard made his return after a 25-game suspension by the NBA last season. His first outing was against the New Orleans Pelicans in which he led his team to a 115-113 victory, coming up with 34 points, six rebounds and eight assists.

Teniya, a fellow basketball player, took to social media to blast critics who doubted her brother after his stellar return performance. The win on Ja’s return helped snap the Grizzlies’ poor run of form and in the process end the Pelicans’ four-game winning streak.

She had this to say in a video recording on social media:

It's him y'all, he's him. It's the 12-time baby. Nothing else, 12 time n***a! C'mon, c'mon! I waited on this day, this long. Just so that I could come over here and tell y'all that he's him.

With the Grizzlies trailing at the end of the first half, Ja Morant showed why he was one of the best players in the league last season by helping the Grizzlies overcome the deficit and eventually clinching the game-winning point with a clutch lay-up.

Ja Morant’s return helped snap difficult run for the Grizzlies

Ja Morant on his return for the Grizzlies helped end a poor run that included five straight losses in a row. Earning a well-fought victory at the Smoothie King Center, home of the New Orleans Pelicans.

Against the Pelicans, the Grizzlies made 41/82 field goal (50%), 31/51 2-pointer made (60.8%), and a 10/31 3-pointer made (32.3%). Compared to their last game against the Oklahoma City Thunder in which they made 30/85 field goals (35.3%), 11/31 (35.5%) 2-pointer and 19/54 (35.2%) 3-pointer.

It is fair to say that the return of Ja Morant brought a spark to the team’s overall performance, but a lot has to be done to remedy their season. With a 7-19 record this season, they welcome the Indians Pacers to the FedExForum next.
