“You celebrated too early” Ja Morant turns into Michael Jackson mid-game as Desmond Bane snatches Stephen Curry’s ankles
Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr
Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant is known to be one of those modern-day NBA players who wear their heart on their sleeves. Having always revealed his true emotions on the basketball court, the current Grizzlies squad is young to be filled with young stars who have ample amount of trust in one another. In Game 1 between the Warriors vs Grizzlies, Morant was evident in justifying the same.
During the first quarter action as the home side was trying to impose their authority on the experienced Golden State Warriors, Desmond Bane went onto shove Stephen Curry to almost one corner of the box and to make matters worse Bane hit a dagger 3-pointer right onto the face of the 3-point king. Amid this particular play, Ja Morant knew beforehand about the outcome and celebrated with some shimmy moves on the court itself.
Ja Morant, Grizzlies suffer loss in Game 1 vs Warriors
Ja Morant was inches away from sealing the win for the Memphis Grizzlies but it was Klay Thompson who forced the error on the reigning Most Improved Player to secure a 1-point win in Game 1. While Morant was exceptional in the first encounter of this semi-final series, FedExForum will be hoping for their marquee player to respond with full venom in the next showdown.
With Draymond Green out for the entire second half after being handed a flagrant 2 foul, courtesy to the impulsive pull-on Brandon Clarke, the Grizzlies had their best chance of attacking the paint with the veteran DPOY out of action.
But that being said, the home fans would be excited to see Jaren Jackson Jr, Desmond Bane, Ja Morant and Dillon brooks all coming out in fine form. Given that the home team would be eager to level the series before the action moves away to Warriors’ turf, Morant will be hoping to undo his game-winning miss by leading the team past the winning in Game 2.
But what drama await, remains to be seen? It is indeed safe to say that this semi-final series between Warriors and Grizzlies could prove to being the best-on-court action modern-day NBA symbolizes.
