Ja Morant‘s NBA season is not going well. He recently underwent a season-ending surgery on his shoulder. After missing 25 games due to suspension, this was not how he would have wanted the season to end.
Ja Morant underwent surgery earlier today to repair the torn labrum in his right shoulder. The Memphis Grizzlies superstar is the most exciting player in the league. For his season to come to an abrupt end had basketball fans aghast. As devastated as he is, Morant sent out a story on his Instagram account mentioning.
What you went thru has a purpose. so does your life. focus on your life's purpose and you will get thru this trying time.
The surgery effectively ends the season for Morant. And he is trying his best to be positive through this period.
After initially being diagnosed with a dislocated shoulder, Morant missed the game against the Phoenix Suns while wearing a sling. Further MRI scans showed a torn right labrum. That kind of injury requires surgery to repair and heal.
Torn Labrum surgeries generally require 12 weeks for recovery. But that is for general people. Basketball players need to ensure it is healed with prolonged rest and rehabilitation to ensure the injury does not reoccur.
The Memphis Grizzlies and their injury woes
Morant had just played just 9 games after coming back from a 25-game suspension for brandishing firearms on social media. The Grizzlies went 6-3 with Morant in the lineup. While Morant deals with his season-ending surgery, the 14-23 Grizzlies currently stand 13th in the Western Conference.
The Grizzlies already are without starting center Steven Adams. Now, Marcus Smart has also been sidelined with a right finger injury which will keep him out for at least 6 weeks. The Grizzlies having to cope without their three starting players for extensive periods will not help them at all.
Morant, on the other hand, is trying to stay as positive as possible. He needs to keep that mindset if he is to return to full health and light up the NBA world again next season.
