On an episode of The Gil’s Arena, a podcast hosted by Gilbert Arenas, a three-time NBA All-Star former basketball player who last played in 2012 for the Memphis Grizzlies, they talk about the next face of the NBA once LeBron James hangs his boots.
The show talked about how the NBA has seen great players after Michael Jordan retired. The likes of LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Steph Curry have all done their part. We also have the likes of Joel Embiid, Nikola Jokic and Giannis Antetokounmpo who are keeping the fans going with their brilliance.

Gilbert then talks about who will be the “face of the NBA” with two names coming to mind. Minnesota Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards and Memphis Grizzlies’ Ja Morant, both of who were first pick and second overall picks during their respective NBA drafts. Agent Zero had this to say on Gil’s Arena:
The problem is Ja Morant is supposed to be there, but Ant-Man (Anthony Edwards) might get it. I wouldn't be mad if the league just said we are going to run with him because we can't give it to Ja because of everything.Gilbert Arenas on Gil’s Arena
Anthony Edwards is currently having an impressive season with the Timberwolves, averaging 24.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game. Ja Morant is rounding up his 25-game NBA suspension and would be hoping to inspire an abysmal Grizzlies on his return.
Ja Morant back from suspension
Ja Morant 25-game supension ended on the 19th of December. He had violated the league’s policy following a gun incident last season. His return date is expected to be on Tuesday against the New Orleans Pelicans.

In his absence, the Grizzlies have gone from being the 2nd best team in the Western Division last season to sitting 13th with a 6-19 record. The Grizzlies are currently on a five-game losing streak.
His last season stats included 26.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, 8.1 assists and a 46.6% FG. How badly would the Grizzlies need the old Morant to help revive their season?
