Jalen Brunson gets traded to the New York Knicks during free agency
Unfortunately, by the time Dallas caught up with the title contenders, Jalen Brunson was on his last day’s wearing the blue jersey. He averaged an incredible 21.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game in the playoffs which included a 31 point outbreak against the Golden State Warriors who defeated them in Game 6. Dallas has shown resilience and power which is key to their success in the future.
The New York Knicks offered him a $104 million four-year including a player option. The news broke on the very beginning of free agency that he accepted it. The Knicks agreed to create cap space by releasing Alec Burks, Nerlens Noel and Kemba Walker to the Detroit Piston. This will benefit the Knicks, their big man Julius Randle who averages a 20 point double-double, and Jalen to open up to a bigger role to be more productive.

As for the Mavs and Doncic, they made a trade with the Houston Rockets to acquire center Christian Wood. This will be the first time the team has a player offensively and defensive versatile and productive since Kristap Porzingis. Last season he averaged 17.9 points and 10.1 rebounds which is a good fit for Dallas.
