On Saturday at the All-Star weekend in Indianapolis, Jalen Brunson, the point guard for the New York Knicks, debuted in the NBA Three-Point Contest. However, he was among the first players eliminated from the event, and it appeared that some fans in attendance were rooting against the Knicks star.
In a recent episode of The Roommates Show, Jalen Brunson, alongside his New York teammate Josh Hart, disclosed an intriguing incident. While at the NBA Three-Point Contest, he overheard someone in the crowd hurling insults at him, labeling him an “effing b*m.” To his surprise, upon turning around, he discovered that the voice belonged to none other than his own father, Rick Brunson. Clearly, Rick was not pleased with Jalen’s performance.
Glancing back to discern the source of the taunts, Jalen discovered that the individual heckling him was none other than his own father, Rick Brunson. He was very displeased with Jalen’s performance. The latter said,
I heard some dude behind the bench, some bald guy sitting behind the bench, I heard, ‘Yo, you effing bum, who said that? My dad. He was like, with that bonus, we could have finished my basement.
Despite the criticism from his father, Brunson delivered a formidable performance in the first round of the event, tallying 24 points. Typically, such a score would secure advancement, but the competition in Indianapolis was exceptionally fierce. Every participant in the first round managed to score at least 20 points, with four individuals tying at the top with 26 points each. Ultimately, Damian Lillard, the star from the Milwaukee Bucks, clinched victory in the event for the second time in his career.
