Jalen Rose recently made it to the NBA headlines for his fiery take on Scottie Pippen and the respect he has around the league today. Many know the Bulls star by the name of “Robin” and it doesn’t feel correct anymore. As just because he suited up with Michael Jordan and backed him up in the best possible way as a supporting cast does. It’s wrong to sideline him, as without him things would have been very different for the Bulls and MJ, and even they know that too. So Jalen Rose finally cutting down the chain of Scottie Pippen being the “Robbin” is right and very understandable.
Jalen Rose is also the right guy to make such claim. As he’s a former NBA player who has played against Scottie Pippen and MJ during their era. He also won the MIP award so things he says as an analyst do make sense and are pretty fair for both the ends he speaks for. Scottie Pippen today is a Hall of Famer because of his Legendary career. He holds many records, multiple rewards and honors for his greats in the league and most importantly he is also a six-time NBA champion. But he isn’t respected for that as he wasn’t the main guy on the team and many believe it’s MJ who got the job done. Now Jalen Rose has added a totally different take of his to it so it’s fair to say that many fans will now have a changed perspective soon.
Scottie Pippen throughout the time has never been the main guy or character and has always been limited as a sidekick. Even though he played the most important role in Bulls’ championship runs throughout the successful years. He even is regarded as the greatest small forward of all-time. As he was the first guy who was capable of doing it all from that position. But unfortunately, the fans have forgotten all of that including how great of a defensive expert he was. So Jalen Rose had to make sure that the HOF gets his well-deserved respect from the fans as he correctly explained why he can’t be called “Robin”.

Jalen Rose discussing the “Robin-take” of his on Scottie Pippen as a superstar in the league who isn’t respected around quoted: “I love Scottie Pippen. Like, he’s a legend. And before I got in the league, while I was in the league and since I’ve been out of the league, I consider him the most disrespected superstar of all time. The biggest disrespect that they gave him was calling him Robin. Now, when people talk about Scottie Pippen, and you see Scottie Pippen in the ‘Last Dance’ is out, he not celebrating that. He’s not happy about that journey. And that’s unfortunate to me.”
Jalen Rose is not at all wrong with his words. As Scottie Pippen’s feelings were genuinely hurt by the way he was portrayed in MJ’s documentary “The Last Dance”. The forward is still upset with it and keeps calling out his best friend every now and then as he believes they did him dirty and now his image in front of millions of fans is damaged. Honestly, some of it is also true as he was criticized and trolled after many clips from the documentary went viral. This didn’t really portray him as “Robin” but also took away the tag of being the main guy. So the story for him remained unchanged and even today many fans know him as a sidekick in Michael Jordan’s story.
