“They don’t have much of a chance without him” Jalen Rose slaps Grizzlies with harsh reality amid Ja Morant injury concerns
Jalen Rose on Ja Morant
A fierce game where a player was injured and fielded questions about the intent, while someone else was ejected from the game. This pretty much sums up the entire series of Golden State Warriors and Memphis Grizzlies so far, as Warriors put their foot down and won Game 3 with a commanding display. Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant limped off the court during Memphis’ 142-112, Game 3 loss after Warriors guard Jordan Poole clutched Morant’s knee as he was dribbling the ball.
The Grizzlies had their crosshairs all set at the start of the game, with their first 18 points all coming from 3-pointers as the Warriors fell into an early hole. But the Warriors turned the tables and reminded everyone who the real ‘Splash Brothers’. They just couldn’t miss, shooting over 70 percent in the first half and 63.1 percent for the game, along with making 53.1 percent of their 3-pointers.
They also dominated on the glass and in the paint. Steph Curry led the way with 30 points, followed by 27 by Jordan Poole off the bench, 21 from Klay Thompson and 17 by Andrew Wiggins.

Without Ja Morant, the Grizzlies will struggle
With Ja Morant on the sidelines, and the Warriors finding their groove, the odds are stacked against the Grizzlies. Jalen Rose, the ESPN analyst believes the chances of the Grizzlies to make it to the conference finals looks bleak now. Talking about how Grizzlies have played well even without Ja Morant this season, but that was not a playoffs series against the Warriors, he responded :
“They are in extreme trouble I totally agree with that, that’s not a series with the warriors and you’ll get Dylan Brooks back which is a welcome sight, but Jaren Jackson Jr and Desmond Bane puts more pressure on them. You want those guys to be a lot more effective a lot more efficient but obviously Ja Morant is one of those superstar level players Stan, he’s the guy that carries you in this situation, he’s the reason why you won game two because he scored 47 points, so without him in the lineup they don’t have much of a chance with this deep Golden State Warriors team”
Ja Morant has been monumental for The Memphis Grizzlies this season, The Most Improved Player has been impactful in clutch moments for the team. Jalen is right in discerning the fact that without Ja Morant, Golden State Warriors might dominate the Grizzlies as Morant’s leadership and athleticism will be deeply missed.
“It looked like Jordan Poole grabbed his knee and yanked it, I didn’t say it was on purpose. I said there was a grab. I’m just curious what happened.” Jenkins said post-game after looking at the replay.
The reaction from Ja Morant, “broke the code,” stems from Warriors head coach Steve Kerr and furious reaction to a flagrant 2 foul to Memphis guard Dillon Brooks. Brooks infamously took out Warriors guard Gary Payton II early in Game 2, resulting in a fractured elbow.
Morant played for 36 minutes in Game 3, dropping 34 points, 3 rebounds and 7 assists. When he left the court, the Grizzlies were down by 26 to the Warriors in the fourth quarter.
Its all to play for in Game 4, as the chirping continues off court. Ja will be looking to recover soon and possible be back at the earliest for the Grizzlies, because if the Warriors pay like they did today, they are in deep trouble. Will the Splash Brothers assert their authority or will the young guns from Memphis fight their way back? the series continues to deliver !
