“She’s still the GOAT” James Harden bids adieu to Serena Williams after bowing out of US Open 2022
Recently, tennis legend Serena Williams was knocked out of the US Open 2022, bidding adieu to the game of tennis as well as to the sporting world. The 40-year-old fought till the end but unfortunately lost her third-round match with Australia’s Ajla Tomljanović. Lots of wishes poured in for her from all over the world. Even the NBA players congratulated her for her successful career. NBA star James Harden also tweeted for Serena well-wishing her.
Serena had already announced that the US Open 2022 will be her last tournament and she will call quits on her professional career. James Harden tweeted, called Serena ‘the GOAT of tennis.’ Serena will be remembered as a great athlete as she has contributed a lot not only to the game of tennis but also the sports world. Other sports athletes were also big fan of Serena since her initial days.
Serena also had a lot of fan following from the NBA league as well. She dominated the tennis court be it hard, grass or clay. She nearly dominated for three long decades which is exceptional, and her legacy of winning 23-time Grand Slam singles titles which are the most by any player in the Open Era. She is also a four-time Olympic gold medalist and longest-running no. 1-ranked female tennis player to live on.
James Harden joins Philadelphia 76ers
After making a trade request out of the Brooklyn Nets James Harden was traded to Philadelphia 76ers and yeah he forced his way out with hours remaining for the deadline to end. He blamed his departure on Kyrie Irving and the system ran by Steve Nash. Unexpectedly, he is committed with the Sixers. As the guard helped the Sixers’ front office by declining a nearly $50 million player option and taking a discount that’s somewhere in the ballpark of $15 million. Harden has joined sixers in the last year of his contract. He could have hit the free agency market this offseason, but the star guard made it clear that he planned to return to Philadelphia to don a Sixers jersey once again. The ten-time All-Star player stuck to his word by declining his player option and re-signing on a two-year deal.
