James Harden wants to win an NBA championship before he retires

Los Angeles Clippers’ point guard, James Harden is widely regarded as one of the greatest scorers and shooting guards in NBA history. However, he is still yet to win his first NBA championship. He once came close in the 2011-2012 season but ultimately fell to the Miami Heat led by their “Big Three” of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh.

When questioned by Melissa Rohlin of Fox Sports about the significance of a championship for his legacy, Harden expressed his thoughts, saying:

Very important. It's been like that. I always want to give myself a chance to win. I know how very difficult that is. There's only one team standing at the end of the year. So, I'll continue to keep trying to do that.

The Clippers are flying this season, despite having a tough start with head coach Tyronn Lue initially failing to effectively combine his blend of superstars. With that now seemingly solved, the Clippers sit 4th in the Western Conference, giving Harden a chance to dream big. This season, he is until now averaging 17.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 7.1 assists per game.
