“Doing Philly a favor” – James Harden leaving for Rockets in summer SHOULD DELIGHT 76ers, claims Kendrick Perkins
Contrary to his Game 1 performance when the Beard dropped a 45 bomb, Harden hasn't played the same in the last two games.
Kendrick Perkins and James Harden
The Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers close out yet another nail-biting game. The Sixers hosted the Celtics for Game 3 of the second round after tieing up the series in Boston. Philly finally had the new MVP, Joel Embiid, back in the lineup. After suffering a knee injury, Embiid missed the first game of the second round, though James Harden was there to carry the Sixers.
Following a Game 2 loss at Boston, Philly had high hopes for Game 3 with Embiid being healthy. Meanwhile, the Celtics had other plans for Philly. Boston held control of the game throughout, though the Sixers were not so far. After a tough fight, Boston took the game by eight, 114-102. Embiid, who’s coming off an injury, had 30 points and 13 rebounds.
With another MVP on the floor, the Sixers couldn’t hold off the Celtics. Harden had 16 for the night while dishing out 11 assists. Contrary to his Game 1 performance when the Beard dropped a 45 bomb, he hasn’t played the same in the last two games.
Not only was his Game 1 performance considered great, but it should be no surprise as for Harden, a 45-point game is like a walk in the park. Kendrick Perkins had to point out his poor efforts in Game 3. “TBH Harden might be doing Philly a favor be headed back to Houston this off-season. Just saying…,” said Perkins on Twitter. Though things weren’t always like this for the Beard.

James Harden and his off-court habits may be a problem
The previous two postseasons haven’t been the best for James. After signing with the Nets, Harden saw a downfall in his stats. Following his time with the Nets, the Beard had the same problem in Philly. His tenure with the Rockets showed his peak as he averaged around 30 points in the postseason for four years straight. He was an absolute scoring machine who couldn’t perform the same for other teams.
Recently, before the start of the second round, Harden asked for some time off, as he went to Las Vegas days before Game 1. While that wasn’t taken into a lot of consideration as he would go on to lead the team to a win. But it is concerning to the coaching staff, as staying with the team would be a wise decision during the postseason. Whereas for James, Houston would not be a great option.
The Rockets are in the middle of a rebuild, and James’ arrival would only disturb the process. The Celtics have gone up 2-1, as the Sixers will now try to even out the series in Game 4.
