The Eastern Conference Semi-Finals are underway in grand style. The Philadelphia 76ers visited the Boston Celtics in Game 1. The contest was much anticipated by NBA fans and critics as the 76ers were playing without Joel Embiid. With the front-running player out with an injury, veteran guard James Harden had to take over most of the responsibility. While the Celtics were playing with all their players in fine form, Philly came out all guns blazing, thanks to Harden’s incredible performance.

The two mighty Eastern Conference teams locking horns proved to be an exciting contest. With the game going down to the wire, James Harden pulled out a classic game-winner. The visitors came out on top of the contest on the back of a 45-point special from their guard. For the Celtics, the ever-so-reliable Jayson Tatum put up a stellar 39 points, with Jaylen Brown scoring 23 points by his side. In a thriller contest between the two beasts, the score at the end of regulation was 119-115.

Although the 76ers won the first game, the series has just begun. Philly now has a 1-0 series lead. However, the Boston Celtics were the 2022 NBA Runners-ups and are a highly spirited team. Their young roster is composed of a brilliant mix of passion and talent. With Game 2 still in Boston, the Celtics will look to defend their home court, comeback in the series, and make it 1-1 before heading to Philadelphia. Unsurprisingly, a veteran guard like James Harden would know not to celebrate too early.

After the 76ers won the game, the younger Philadelphia players celebrated their win with exuberance. This is when Harden yelled and directed his teammates to head into the locker room. He, evidently, tried to humble his teammates and remind them that the series was far from over and that celebrating too early could lead them to be complacent and allow Boston to make a comeback.

Fans on Twitter always have something to say following a big game. Although, in their defense, most big games like this have something exciting to unfold every time. Today, it was Harden’s leadership taking over Game 1 during and after the game. Many fans seemed impressed with the guard’s instructions to tell the Sixers to head to the locker room after they celebrated.

Game 2 between the Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers is set to be played on May 04th (US). While the 76ers will look to extend their lead to 2-0 before heading home, Boston will love to make it 1-1. After all, a home game win would serve them with a huge morale boost.

Philly, on the other hand, has had a decent home record this season. They were 29-12 during the regular season and won both games out of the four played in the first round. Needless to say that with the likes of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, we can expect the Celtics to put up a fight. Philly, on the other hand, can only surprise us further without Joel Embiid on the floor.
