James Harden PUBLICALLY RIPS 76ers president, calls Daryl Morey a “liar” amidst All-star’s exit talks
James Harden lambasted Daryl Morey and made some obnoxious remarks, announcing that he will never play for a team Morey is a part of.
James Harden and Daryl Morey
James Harden’s time with the Philadelphia 76ers is almost done. The franchise is trying to bring him back and keep their championship dreams alive. However, The Beard now cares the least about them and wants to exit the team as soon as possible. Many would believe it to be another classic James Harden exit story where he is running away from the grind. But this time things are quite different, and Daryl Morey can be the biggest reason behind the former MVP’s potential exit.
James Harden as of now is on a tour in China promoting Adidas. And, fans there just love him unconditionally, and he has even bagged the hero title there. During his time there, he has also announced a very important decision about his future with the Sixers. While doing so, he has ripped the Sixers’ President of Basketball Operations, Daryl Morey apart.
Harden quoted: “Daryl Morey is a liar and I will never be a part of an organization that he’s a part of. Let me say that again – Daryl Morey is a liar and I will never be a part of an organization that he’s a part of.” This bold statement by James Harden makes sense and is even understandable.
It came after Daryl Morey and the Sixers ended trade talks owith him. He picked up his player option back in June only to be traded out of the Sixers, and his desired destination was the Los Angeles Clippers. All of it happened because he was unhappy with the way the Sixers’ front office handled his free agency. They even refused to give him a long-term maximum contract.
Shams Charania earlier reported that the relationship between Harden and Daryl Morey is fractured. Therefore, Charania calling Morey a “liar” is not unexpected. The duo has spent years together in Houston and now in Philly. But the bold statement now hints at an unfortunate end to their partnership.

James Harden’s plans for the coming training camp revealed
The Philadelphia 76ers have ended all trade talks with Harden and plan to have him back. They believe things will get better with time, even though the All-Star guard is unhappy with the front office. Now, he has even announced that he will never suit up for a team that Daryl Morey is a part of. But even before this bold move, his plans to leave Philly were true and clear.
Sam Amick of The Athletic reported, “No matter what signals the Sixers might send when it comes to trade talks, a source close to Harden reiterated that the 10-time All-Star and former MVP no longer wants to play for Philadelphia and has no plans of taking part in training camp.”
This won’t be the first time James Harden will be forcing his way out of a franchise. But this time, he has a solid reason to do so. He took a $15 million pay cut before last season to help the team sign some rotational players. Harden got clowned by the front office and wasn’t offered a maximum extension. His future, though, remains uncertain as the Sixers especially, Daryl Morey, have yet to respond.
