The Los Angeles Clippers have soared up the Western Conference standings by winning 13 of their previous 15 games and four games in a row. James Harden took a shot at the skeptics who criticized the trade that sent the guard to Los Angeles during the Clippers’ initial struggle on Wednesday’s 131-122 victory over the Phoenix Suns. The Clippers defeated the Suns once more with the help of Paul George, Kawhi, Leonard, and James Harden.
With 22 points and 11 rebounds, the elusive point guard contributed to the victory, extending the Clippers’ winning run to four games. Paul George and Kawhi Leonard both scored thirty points a night to put them ahead early and help them defeat the Suns without Kevin Durant. After his trade, the team’s poor 0–5 start earned him and the team a tonne of criticism. Now after their turnaround, the Clippers appear to be a formidable force once again.
After the victory, Harden made a less-than-subtle jab at Dallas Mavericks broadcaster Brian Dameris. James Harden said,
Obviously it didn't start off well. It gave people so much to talk about negatively. And now those people that were talking, they are nowhere to be found. Like literally nowhere to be found.
The LA Clippers’ new phase under James Harden didn’t get off to a good start, drawing harsh criticism for both the squad and the 34-year-old. They lost their opening few games before they eventually established a winning formula. To increase their odds of winning their first championship, the team brought Harden in.
James Harden and the Clippers are looking for post-season success
The Clippers have issued a warning in recent weeks that their offense is merely displaying the tip of its iceberg, even though they are essentially only using a portion of their entire playbook to include Harden. Harden and the Clippers are old enough to know that this isn’t the time for their real test. The actual test, where they will have to show their determination, won’t come until much later in the postseason.
But it appears that James Harden has found a home with the Los Angeles Clippers. The LA team has made it apparent that they want to win a championship this year thanks to the chemistry he has with Paul George and Russell Westbrook. Only time will show if the highly motivated Clippers can pull off the upset. In actuality, Harden included, they are currently accelerating and fortifying themselves.
At this point, it’s clear that Harden is no longer an issue. This Los Angeles team has advanced thanks to his playmaking prowess and offensive virtuosity. After a dismal 3-7 record in their first six games as a Clipper, they are currently the fourth-seeded team in the increasingly competitive Western Conference with a 21-12 record.
