“Worthless” James Jordan humiliated Michael Jordan only to boost his competitive gene
James Jordan and Michael Jordan
NBA legend and arguable GOAT – Michael Jordan always credited his father, James Jordan, for whatever he has achieved all his life. The father-son duo shared a beautiful bond, and Michael has always referred to James as his ‘best friend.’ But James has his way of motivating his son and humiliating him only to get the best out of him.
In a YouTube video, James was interviewed by a media personnel mid-game. Where he told everyone that his son had said to him that he was going to go all the way this year and win the title. James commented, “Michael says that they’ve gotten so close this year and there’s no assurance that they’re gonna get this goes against what he’s certain I’d like to go all the way.”
When the reporter asked James that he ever thought Michael will be such an extraordinary player, he replied, “No there was no way you could tell you know I always thought Michael played baseball of course he had that year today he grew so much and it’s just been a joy watching them develop into the player that the wearer can see today all right hopefully we can watch him all the way through the play offs I hope so if you do I’ll be ready I’ll be at number one fan all the ways through.”
James Jordan, the father of Michael Jordan, was murdered
James Jordan was murdered on 3rd August 1993. His body was found in a swamp in South Carolina, while his car was found vandalized and ripped off in North Carolina. Two best friends, Larry Demery and Daniel Green were arrested for the murder of Michel Jordan’s father. Michael Jordan retired from basketball after his father’s death to try his hand at professional baseball. Baseball was, after all, his father’s game and a sport they both loved together. James had always wanted to see Michael play baseball in the pro, so Michael decided to honor his father. However, MJ couldn’t stay away from basketball and made a comeback.
The Chicago Bulls won their 4th championship with Michael; it was Father’s Day in 1996. While in the post-match interview, Michael said, “this was probably the hardest time for me to play the game of basketball.” Understandably, Mike admitted that, “I had a lot of things in my heart and on my mind … and maybe my mind was not geared to [the game].” He continued, “I think deep down inside, it was geared to what was most important to me, which was my family and my father not being here to see this. I’m just glad my team pulled me through this because it was a tough time for me.” Michael was missing his number-one fan that day.
