From a Lakers to CONVICTED murderer, Jaravis Crittenton’s tragic end a promising NBA career
Jaravis Crittenton is infamously known for his highly controversial interaction with Washington Wizards legend Gilbert Arenas. The former first round pick had heaps of other problems that unfolded following the incident. One such incident cost the baller his NBA career, a job that several young basketball players could only dream of getting.
In 2011, two years ago the locker room incident took place, Jaravis Crittenton found himself at the end of his career after misfiring at a mother of four while trying to shoot a man who robbed him. According to BleacherReport, Jullian Jones was shot in the leg but later pronounced dead at the hospital she was taken to.
Jaravis was arrested three days later by the FBI. It was this incident that marked his name with the tagline of murderer and not famed athlete. He was very close to Gilbert Arenas with whom he used to hangout with all the time. However, Crittenton had several other issues with his record involving drugs, gangs and murders.

The story started off with Gilbert Arenas and Jaravis Crittenton playing a game cards during a plane ride. The latter threatened shoot Arenas which triggered the incident that took place. The Wizards legend appeared in the locker room with four guns, according to BleacherReport. Arenas told Crittenton to “pick one” but to his surprise, the latter pulled out a gun of his own.
The two were suspended from the NBA and eventually lost their care due to this dreadful confrontation. Gilbert Arenas appeared on VladTV saying that whatever happened was a simple threat taken too far. Despite Crittenton sticking to his word, Arenas seemed to have taken the blame on himself for what had happened claiming that his teammate did not deserve the punishment.
Arenas was excelling in the NBA at that point of time. He claims that he still keeps in touch with Jaravis. Gilbert says that he had a very close relationship with the athlete turned convict. He claimed it was a big brother, little brother situation where he would sit and chat with Crittenton over sports and allow him to put payments under his tab.
