Jason Kidd also pointed out a similar aspect as his team gave away too many points, while they were struggling to score some.
Kidd answered 4th quarter Havoc at the Chase Center, in the press conference, “We play defense when we play offense, and we played no defense when we can’t score. And that is something that we have to get better at this time of the year. Just understanding the defensive principles, we just have to do better.”
The fairly young Dallas team allowed massive 43 points to Golden State Warriors in the fourth quarter, while they managed to add 32 to their tally. The warrior’s team, having won 3 Championships in the last 7 years had all the experience to outdo the opponents at the clutch moments in the game.
Stephen Curry enjoyed scoring in the second half as he ended up with 32 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists in the game. Kevon Looney and Jordan Poole added 21 and 23 respectively for the Warriors. Luka had a game-high 42 points and was supported well by Jalen Brunson (31 points) and Reggie Bullock (21 points) in the offense.
Jason Kidd – a member of the last Championship-winning Dallas team, emphasized the improvement at the defensive end, while the scoreboard is not moving in your favor. It would at least keep the game within reach and possibly end up winning it in the end. Dallas did incredible overturning 2-0 deficit against top Seed Phoenix Suns in Semifinals, but a similar feat might be difficult to repeat against an “in-form” Warriors team.
