In the past few days, NBA off-court drama escalated when Allen Iverson‘s activities were attacked by Brian Windhorst. He revealed the Hall of Famer’s 41% lifetime shooting percentage and said that he would not be appropriate for the modern era. Jason Williams saw this seemingly bad interpretation and then publicly criticized the analyst.

Jason Williams attacked Brian Windhorst for disparaging remarks about Allen Iverson on a recent episode of Players TV. Williams even went so far as to fat-shame Windhorst for his appearance. Over the years, numerous insiders have made several comments. Many big statements were made concerning a plethora of things. But William defended Iverson this time.

Jason Williams said via Players TV:

The only thing that really stood out to me about that was his neck. He said Allen Iverson was shooting 41% in the league today, looks like he ate 41 donuts. What has Brian Windhorst ever done athletically.

It seems that NBA fans didn’t agree with Williams’ point of view, but that didn’t excuse Windhorst’s remarks. Iverson topped the league in scoring four times despite having a career field goal that was below average, according to NBA.com. Along with that, he led the NBA in steals per game three times, demonstrating his in-game intelligence.

Willie Green treasured the time he spent with Allen Iverson

Willie Green’s message to the Pelicans is still straightforward yet firm. While in the City of Brotherly Love, New Orleans has the opportunity to live up to those expectations and honor an NBA legacy. Just as the 76ers are starting construction on a new Allen Iverson statue that will be placed this spring, the Pelicans arrive in town. Iverson and Green shared a locker room, and before departing for Philadelphia, the third-year coach thought back on those times.

Will Green said in an interaction with the media:

First of all, my time as a teammate of AI's was fantastic. He was a great teammate. I loved being around him, loved challenging him one-on-one and I never beat him in. One of the hardest playing teammates I ever have.

On April 12, the 76ers intend to build a statue outside the arena. More information was provided in a statement published by co-owners Josh Harris and David Blitzer. This news coincides with the tenth anniversary of the team retiring Iverson’s No. 3 jersey. Iverson had a stellar career with the 76ers, helping the team to six postseason appearances, including one in the NBA Finals in 2001.
