Jayson Tatum has obviously been a master of offensive in the last few games. He has been averaging 27 points during this post-season and as Stephen Curry had put it, he is a very versatile player. Besides him are his defensive juggernaut teammates especially Marcus Smart who is Curry’s biggest threat since they play the same position and Al Horford whose defense and veteran experience come into play.

The Celtics went on 17-0 scoring run during the final moments of Game 1 and Jayson Tatum had finished with 12 points and 13 assists. Jay Williams acknowledged the fact that Boston still stayed afloat without Tatum’s presence on offense. “I’ve talked to a lot of beat writers. I’ve known Ime Udoka for a while, I’ve known Jayson Tatum obviously since he was freshman at Duke. And one of things that used to happen in the past is that a lot of Tatum’s effort in other aspects of the game… factored in how he scored…”

“…Usually if guys aren’t getting touches, they’re gonna check out. They’re not going to do the little things. One of the things Ime Udoka has been preaching to Tatum is that your impact on the game isn’t just scoring. It’s in other aspects and how you get other people involved. For Tatum to have 13 assists in this ball game, goes to show you his evolution as a player and how he’s maturing in the game,” said Williams.
