“KD defends it every single day online” Jay Williams believes Kevin Durant is absolutely not leaving the Brooklyn Nets

Jay Williams on Kevin Durant trade

Brooklyn Nets are looking for possible destinations for their star players Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant. But many analysts and former players suggest that Kevin Durant will be at the Barclays Center itself next season. Kendrick Perkins made strong claims about KD staying put in Brooklyn, but now Jay Williams also weighs in with his calculations and possible outcome of the trade discussions.

As per the analyst, very few teams possess a trade package that would move Durant away from Brooklyn, so Kevin might end up playing at the Nets. And as per Williams, it would be perfect for the 33-year-old megastar.

Jay Williams rubbishes the claims that Kevin Durant would hamper his legacy by making any false decisions. Though he has requested for the trade away from the Nets, internally he is also aware that the trade is a near-impossible task for any single team, especially with the 4-year contract he will be bringing in the trade.

Though Kevin Durant had submitted the trade request many teams with settled roaster would have to make huge sacrifices to land a 12-time All-Star. And even after making such sacrifices of their own stars and some future picks, success might not be guaranteed for either party. 4-time scoring champion Durant did try to make his own superteam at the Nets, but it didn’t work for various reasons – injuries, commitment from others, coaching, and stronger opposition.

And now because of the above-mentioned reasons, Durant is said to be making move, which as per Jay Williams is not likely to happen. He said, “I am here to tell you, it’s a lie, He (KD) defends his legacy as every day online.,” regarding the possible trade he added, “This Organization has committed to every one of your asks, they have given you the head coach and personnel and brought in James and that didn’t work-out and tried to manage expectations. Why go somewhere else and not see the moves in place, you could get in return for Kyrie first?”

Points put forward by Jay Williams are quite valid as making move from the Nets would be risky as it would be a completely new situation for players and trading franchises also. While Nets have tried their best to keep Seth Curry, Patty Mills, and Ben Simons as an effective support cast for Kevin Durant. Also if Kyrie Irving stays it would be a great team contending for the championship.

As per Williams, Brooklyn Nets right now have a very potent team to compete against the Bucks, Celtics, 76ers, and Miami in the East, and may win it all in 2023 also. Brooklyn Fans would be happy with the assessments as they never got a chance to see the real power of “seven-eleven” playing at the highest level on regular basis. 2-time Finals MVP can also deliver the promised Championship, shutting his doubters in the process.
