“He played on one leg last series” Jay Williams breaks down potential problems Marcus Smart will face vs. Stephen Curry in the NBA Finals
Marcus Smart could be a kryptonite for the Golden State Warriors during the upcoming NBA Finals tonight. The Warriors have been through some of the toughest groups of players over the years especially during their finals runs of the last decade. The team has dominated and played very efficiently since their first championship besides injuries side tracking them for two years.
Stephen Curry, a former two time back to back MVP is the player the Boston Celtics will have to look out for as he is an assassin on offense who averaged 32 points per game earlier in the season. Besides him, they have the rest of the roster who have achieved a balance from defense to offense. This may potentially become of the best finals series the game have witnessed in recent years.

Boston Celtics prove their championship worthiness in the Eastern Conference Finals
Consistency tends to be an issue on the Boston Celtics roster but that was corrected over the course of seven games in the Eastern Conference Finals. Jayson Tatum would sometimes experience a dip in scoring every now and then but the player averaged a solid 25 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game on 47.6% shooting from the field and 36.7% from three.
Jaylen Brown was also extremely efficiently against the Miami Heat averaging 24.1 points per game which included a 40-point performance in their third meeting. Marcus Smart might be a very important piece on the roster who could stop Curry. The reigning Defensive Player of the Year had a rating on 104.6 limiting his opponents to league lower 43.4% shooting from the field. He ranked seventh in league in steals averaging 1.68 per game.

Jay Williams believes Marcus Smart will find it hard to work his position
As the Finals fast approaches, analysts have been making their final predictions on the matchup. Jay Williams spoke on what will stop the Warriors saying, “This is his (Stephen Curry) greatest challenge individually against the defensive player of the year at the same position and historically this is the best team they have defensively, metric wise in the NBA Finals.”
“There is a physicality that the Boston Celtics bring to the table. Now Marcus Smart is hobble up. He’s had the ankle injury, the quad injury, the foot injury all on the same leg. Pretty much in the last series against the Heat, he was playing on one leg,” said Williams. Keyshawn Johnson who joined JWill also believes that Smart will have a tough time transitioning between running the offense and playing key defense on Curry.
