Grant Williams vs Bam Adebayo

While Boston Celtics destroyed Miami Heat in Game 2 at home, marquee stars of the latter team failed to fire. One of which were Bam Adebayo who scored only 6 points in over 29 minutes. While only Jimmy Butler managed to score game-high 39 points. He majorly demanded help from the other stars of his team yet no one was able to deliver. Upon which Jay Williams decided to opinionate.

On the latest episode of ESPN’s Keyshawn, JWill and Max, former Chicago Bulls player decided to criticize Bam Adebayo for his lack of effort. Even though Adebayo failed to score points, Williams was more upset that the former did not even try to take more shots, given his importance and leadership on the offensive end.

Bam Adebayo disappoints in Game 2 vs Celtics

“Yo, Bam Adebayo, you’re an All-Star. Where are you? What are we doing? This game last night you took six shots. The game before that you took four shots. You need your other All-Star to come to the damn party and be aggressive. He needs to demand the ball.”

Bam Adebayo has had an atrocious start to the Eastern Conference Finals against the Boston Celtics as the Celtics defense has limited the center to just 10 shots in the first two games combined – four shots in Game 1 and six shots in Game 2. It is just not acceptable for a center that is an All-Star and Jay Williams is right to criticize Adebayo for this.

That being said, with PJ Tucker also injured for the upcoming games after being ruled out of Game 2. Moreover, with Kyle Lowry yet to make an appearance for the Miami Heat in the Eastern Conference Final series against Boston Celtics, Adebayo needs to help out Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro on the offensive end.

Given that Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are perhaps in the form of their life, will Bam Adebayo be able to make a significant different for Erik Spoelstra’s team in the coming games at TD garden? Or will Celtics eventually go onto take the lead in the EC Finals? Remains to be seen.
