Not to jinx or break the spell, but the Boston Celtics may do the unthinkable this season. Currently at the top of the Eastern Conference, the men in green and white have been nothing but exceptional. It’s all credit to the team and their star players like Jayson Tatum – and who knows, the famous Larry O’Brien Trophy could return to Boston since their triumph 15 years ago.

But one thing there is no hiding and has surety of is how Celtics star Jayson Tatum grew up idolizing the icon himself, Kobe Bryant. And even since that tragic accident that the world lost Bryant, the Small Forward’s love for his mentor’s game is still bright and high. So much so that he even made a bizarre comparison when Kobe won his last two championships with the help of Pau Gasol. And now he believes that with the arrival of Kristaps Porzingis, he can see the similarity in both’s fate.

Kobe really needed Pau for those last two championships that they won together. Whatever path that I’m on and we’re on, KP really feels like the missing piece.

The 6x time NBA All-Star had joined the Los Angeles Lakers in 2008. That’s where he met his brother for life, Kobe Bryant. And ever since then, it is just history – a friendship that goes beyond death.

The last two championships that they both won were a testament to their friendship, with both players being essential for each other during that illusive glory. From then on two complete strangers went on to form an unbreakable bond of friendship, that even to this day is felt amongst fans and their family.
