He is undoubtedly one of the best forwards in the business today and not many in the league can guard him if he’s locked in and ready to go. All these years in the league he has lived up to the expectations everyone had around him and has kept getting better and better while improving his game. Jayson Tatum already has a deep bag on the offensive end and without a doubt is a lockdown defender as he gave Kevin Durant one of the best scorers in league’s history a tough time getting some points and even led the Boston Celtics to the NBA Finals.
But unfortunately, the Stephen Curry-led Golden State Warriors were better as they got the job done against the Cs in just six games. Jayson Tatum wasn’t really playing at his level best in NBA Finals. As he was limited to a playmaker and guarded closely and had most of his shots contested. He was also double-teamed but with all these still, he managed to average 21.5 points, 7 assists and 6.8 rebounds. So there’s no doubt about the fact that Jayson Tatum is the guy the Celtics want and need as he has the potential and will just keep on getting better and better both physically and mentally.
Jayson Tatum is under a contract worth $195 million with the Boston Celtics for 3 more seasons. As he signed the extension in 2020. But now he has a great chance of securing himself another big bag and getting the largest deal in NBA history worth $298 million. But it’s just not any maximum extension as there are certain conditions JT will have to check on his to-do list for the coming season or he’ll lose the very wanted contract of his.

Jayson Tatum last season got himself a spot in All-NBA first team and if he’s able to do the same in the coming 2022-23 season. He will be able to sign a five-year, $297 million extension with the Boston Celtics. But unfortunately, he’ll have to wait for another offseason for signing it as he will be one year short in the years of service criteria. So he’ll have a chance to sign it in the 2024 offseason. But it all totally depends upon how good he plays in the next season and he will surely have to make the All-NBA team once again. So it’s clear that the future of both, the individual who is a megastar in making and the franchise is in safe hands.
