The NBA Conference Finals are up and running and we have seen some phenomenal performances from players across the teams. While veterans of the league continue to play with dominance, the younger guns have also risen to the occasion. There’s no doubt that one of the most impressive players this playoffs has been Jayson Tatum. The Boston Celtics forward has consistently played phenomenally. His staggering numbers in the postseason are the primary reason behind the Celtics’ impressive run thus far.
Jayson Tatum is undoubtedly one of the most promising talents in the league. Moreover, the forward keeps on finding opportunities to create history time and time again. He once again succeeded as Tatum joined an elite and limited list of players after playing against the Miami Heat. He is now the third player in NBA history to score 2,100 points aged 25 years or younger. The only two other players on that list are Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant.
Apart from his recent achievement, Tatum was also exceptional in Game 7 against the Philadelphia 76ers. He led his team with a staggering 51-point performance to charge through the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals. Jayson Tatum is currently averaging 28.7 points, 10.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game in the 2023 playoffs. There’s no doubt that alongside Kobe Bryant and Kevin Durant, his form remains substantial to the Celtics’ chances in the Eastern Conference finals. Boston is currently trailing 2-0 against the Miami Heat after playing two games at home.

The Boston Celtics have been disappointing in their two home games in the Eastern Conference Finals. After a tough seven-game series against the Philadelphia 76ers, the Celtics are now up against the Miami Heat. Led by Jimmy Butler, the Heat have had an amazing playoff run so far. Undoubtedly, they would want to go all the way into their second NBA finals in four years.
Jimmy Butler has been exceptional throughout the entire postseason. He has averaged 31.1 points, 6.6 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game in the 2023 playoffs. One could argue that he is tough competition and a worthy counterpart to Jayson Tatum. Miami are now leading the series 2-0 as they travel home for Games 3 and 4. Moreover, they have managed to keep a stronghold on the Celtics’ defense as they managed to make stellar comebacks in both of their wins.
The Celtics on the other hand would head into Game 3 after a lot of reassessment. Boston would want to win both away games in order to keep their hopes alive. After all, after their finals disappointment last season, they would like to have another shot at an NBA title. It will be interesting to see how both teams come out and play in Game 3. Will Miami strangle Boston into a 3-0 deficit or will the Celtics fight back to make it 2-1?
