“Worst superstar this league has ever seen!’ – Jayson Tatum faces fans’ WRATH after Celtics blow up 22-point 4th quarter lead against the Cavs

Jayson Tatum was subject to the wrath of fans after his Boston Celtics lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers in dramatic fashion

The Boston Celtics are the league leaders and have been in that position for quite some time. The previous game against the Golden State Warriors solidified the notion that the Celtics are the team to beat. Tonight they went against one of their Eastern Conference playoff contenders. This game against the Cleveland Cavaliers gave them a rude awakening. Fans have directed their wrath against Jayson Tatum for allowing this fourth-quarter comeback.

The Boston Celtics were in the lead in the fourth quarter, at one point leading by 22 points. They were already without leading superstar Donovan Mitchell. They also lost star forward Evan Mobley in the third quarter due to an ankle injury. But the Cavaliers stormed back, behind Dean Wade‘s fourth-quarter heroics, to win the game by one point. The plight for the Celtics was such that Wade, a bench player outscored the Celtics by himself in the fourth quarter.

It seemed that the Celtics’ superstar-laden squad had no answers to the determination of the Cavaliers. The Celtics are the best defensive team in the league. The Cavaliers did not want their playoff hopes to take a beating at the hands of the Celtics. Moreso, the double-digit deficit was pointing at a narrative similar to what the Warriors received.

The Cavaliers buckled down and handed the Celtics their first loss after a league-best 11-game winning streak. They breathed a sigh of relief when a replay review ended up favoring them. However, it should not gloss over how determined the Cavaliers were to win the game.

Fans not sparing superstar Jayson Tatum for this loss

However good the Cavaliers were in the fourth quarter, basketball fans cannot let go of how bad the Celtics played in the fourth quarter. They could not fathom that the team that blew out the Warriors, could not handle their business despite the opposition not having their leading superstar in the game.

As soon as the final whistle sounded, fans jumped onto social media to let Celtics leading superstar Jayson Tatum feel their wrath. After all, he is supposed to be an MVP frontrunner. And the fact that he allowed his team to lose in this fashion did not sit well with fans. Check out some of their reactions below;
