On one hand where Miami Heat looked depleted since the opening minutes of Game 4, Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics went to rub salt on their wounds with massive points in every quarter. While the former team went 0-14 in the opening quarter and scored just 1 point in the opening 7 minutes of Game 4, Celtics bamboozled them on the offensive end.
Being without Tyler Herro in Game 4, Heat lacked any inspiration coming off the bench. While Victor Oladipo was the only player performing for Erik Spoelstra’s team, stars like Kyle Lowry, PJ Tucker, Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler failed miserably. Moreover, it was Jayson Tatum who managed to bounce back with emphatic 31-point performance.
What was opinionated by Jayson Tatum?
When asked about his mentality heading to the contest after a poor performance, Tatum shared he’s often mad at first but eventually shrugs it off because he knows in himself how good he is.
“I’m mad after a bad game, but then I sleep it off. I’m a big believer in you can’t change what happened,” the Boston Celtics star said, per NBA insider Keith Smith. “Regardless of whether I have 10 points or 46 points, the next day is the next day.”
Tatum only showcased what true leadership attribute really is. Even when he went onto score 10 points in Game 3, Jayson bounced back to come up big in Game 4, which was ever so important for the home team. Having won Game 4 102-82 at home, the Celtics have once again equalized the EC Final series 2-2, with the showdown now heading towards Miami for Game 5.
Given that Herro will be back for Game 5, Jimmy Butler and co. will be hoping to take the advantage once again. Moreover, Marcus Smart will be hoping to return to join forces on the defensive end with Robert Williams III and Al Horford. What drama awaits? Remains to be seen.
