Jayson Tatum HILARIOUSLY apologizes to Janet Jackson and rubs salt in Hawks’ wounds after ending their season

Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics finally got booked their spot in the Eastern Conference semifinals. They beat the Atlanta Hawks 128-120 in Game 6 of their first-round playoff series. The Celtics took the first two games at home and split the two games in Atlanta. Up by 3-1 heading into Game 5, the Celtics seemed solid enough to close out the series, though Trae Young came in clutch to force Game 6.

For the Celtics, Game 6 was a rough ride. The Hawks did just enough through three quarters to stay ahead. But a late surge in the fourth quarter helped the Celtics win the game and close the series at 4-2. Tatum had a great night, scoring 30 points and grabbing 14 rebounds while shooting 55% from the field and 40% from beyond the arc. Overall it was a collective effort from the Celtics that won them this game.

Jaylen Brown put up an excellent performance too, scoring 32 points. However, the series wouldn’t have extended to Game 6 without Trae Young’s heroics in Game 5 in Boston. The Hawks guard exploded for 38 points and 13 assists in Game 5 including the logo game-winner to force another game. The Celtics were the heavy favorites entering the series, and while it took them longer than most expected, they did close the series. But Young’s incredible outing in Game 5 caused an unexpected problem and it included popstar Janet Jackson.

The Hawks’ home stadium, the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, was scheduled to host Jackson’s concert on Thursday night, the same night the team was scheduled to host the Celtics for Game 6. The Hawks unexpectedly taking Boston to six games led to the concert being postponed to Friday night. Tatum knew about this and apologized to the pop icon for the inconvenience.

In the post-game interview, Jayson Tatum apologized to Janet Jackson, saying, “I want to send an apology to the legend Janet Jackson. We were supposed to close it out in Boston (in Game 5). She had to postpone her show. I hope she see this. I apologize for that. But we got it done today.”. Even the fans were left startled, watching Tatum be petty following the Game 6 win.

Janet’s concert is now scheduled for April 28th, as she’ll continue her tour. The Celtics have advanced to the second round and will now face the Philadelphia 76ers. Both teams are top teams of the East, and it will be interesting to see how the series will turn out, should all the players be healthy.
